Democrats Could Gain At Least 2 House Seats Under New N.C. Redistricting Plan

Activists opposed to partisan gerrymandering hold up representations of congressional districts from North Carolina, left, and Maryland, right, ahead of Supreme Court arguments last spring. The court ultimately decided that federal courts could not adjudicate partisan gerrymandering cases.

The plan follows a ruling by a state court last month that said North Carolina Republicans, who control the legislature, had unfairly disadvantaged Democrats.
